The Old School House art studio provides both beginners and experienced artists alike the opportunity to realise their creative potential and, very often, achieve results they would never have thought possible. Many of our courses are sponsored through a special arrangement we have with Daler—Rowney and The Cumberland Pencil Co — these courses include materials.

Richard and Ros Cartwright with dog BaileyOur studio is situated in the heart of Castle Rising, a delightful conservation village bordering the Royal Sandringham Estate. The village provides an abundance of architectural and historical interest, and a multitude of painting opportunities, for visitor and student alike.

Within close proximity are nature reserves, woodlands and the North Norfolk coast; all designated areas of outstanding natural beauty.

Established by Ros and Richard Cartwright in 1993 the studio lies about five miles north of the historic port of King's Lynn which, in addition to affording some very attractive riverside painting locations, is well served by national coach and rail services (London, King's Cross 1 hr 45 mins duration — hourly service)

Whilst we understand the vital importance of ensuring we provide well structured and properly organised courses operated by experienced tutors we also recognise that what we offer needs to be an enjoyable experience for everyone.

You are assured of a very warm welcome from us on arrival and our attention to detail throughout.
