Painting Holiday
Oxford has been a seat of learning excellence for hundreds of years; its magnificent architecture and vibrant
atmosphere reawakens the senses and stirs the imagination…….

This is a wonderful opportunity to try new ideas, move your work forward and gain inspiration working with a friendly group of mixed ability artists all wanting to share in the same experience.

Staying at Magdalen College you will enjoy unrestricted access to the college grounds which are packed with inspiration and extend to 100 acres including private quads with immaculate lawns, beautiful herbaceous borders, a circular riverside walk and a deer park – the Cherwell meanders through the college grounds and the Old Kitchen Bar terrace overlooks Magdalen Bridge where tourists enjoy a leisurely hour or two messing about on the river. This truly is a tranquil place of astonishing beauty in the very heart of Oxford.

Whether to paint in the college grounds or wander into Oxford to find a quiet corner is, of course, entirely up to you but we're confident that, whatever your decision, you will discover all the inspiration you need.

Our accommodation has been arranged on a dinner, bed and breakfast basis in the recently refurbished Grove Building. The study bedrooms offer a good standard of en-suite accommodation including tea and coffee making facilities. Both breakfast and dinner are assisted buffet style and taken in the splendour of the mediaeval Grand Hall.

  • You will love this Painting Holiday if you enjoy:
  • Being creative in a relaxed, holiday environment
  • Improving your skills and socialising in the company of a likeminded group

Date:    13th-17th August 2018 (Monday-Friday)

The cost of the holiday is £620.00 per person and includes a good standard of 'study bedroom' en-suite
half board (dinner, bed & breakfast) accommodation for four nights.
All meals are buffet style and taken in the magnificent surroundings of the Main Hall.

Lunches and drinks are not included in the fee.

A non refundable deposit of £85 per person is required at the time of booking with the balance being payable 6 weeks prior to the painting holiday.

Magdalen College has no car park of its own and parking in Oxford generally is very limited.  It is possible to park at the Park & Ride for the week.
Oxford is, however, well served with national rail and coach services which are the recommended methods of travel or, better still, ask someone to bring you!

This 'untutored' painting holiday is organised by West Norfolk Arts Centre.  Richard Cartwright will be on hand throughout should you require any help or assistance with any aspect of your stay.

Please telephone us on 01553 631689 or email us as soon as possible to book your place.
